Abstract

Fintech apps have played a transformative role in shaping the consumption patterns of youngsters in the digital age.  Today, there is a drastic difference in the way how consumers respond and react when they make the final decision to purchase a product be it FMCG or consumer durables.  Above all the shopping pattern has changed drastically when it comes to buying online or offline mode. Several studies also claimed the same but to study more and substantiate, the researchers have decided to study the changing purchase pattern and to determine the factors which influence them the most while purchasing consumer durable products in Bangalore city. Also, businesses must assess the altered or changing behaviours of urban consumers. A survey method was conducted to determine the factors influencing the purchase decision. A simple random sampling technique has been used with a sample size of 205.  Factor analysis was undertaken to find the apt variables influencing the consumer purchase decision. The study aims to help online and offline retailers understand their customers well, so that they can concentrate on the most important factors and attributes which will help them strategize and eventually increase the customer base and sales.
